📋 Complete Session Protocol

Follow these steps exactly for every session

1

Pre-Session Screening (5 minutes)

  • CRITICAL: Ask about implanted electrical devices (absolute contraindication)
  • Verify ALL magnetic jewelry is removed (will heat up and burn)
  • Remove smart watches and fitness trackers
  • Verify waiver is signed and on file in EFS app
  • Ask about pregnancy (requires written doctor’s approval)
  • Check for other contraindications (seizures, recent surgery)
  • Confirm no medications taken in last 2 hours
  • Ensure client understands 2-hour post-session window

2

Equipment Setup

  • Inspect equipment for any damage
  • Clean charging plates and PCS/Bulb with approved cleaner
  • Position chair/table at proper distance from unit
  • Ensure area is clear of metal objects and plants
  • Double-check client has NO magnetic jewelry on
  • Verify smart watches and fitness trackers are removed
  • Have timer ready (phone on airplane mode is OK)

3

Client Positioning

  • Seat client comfortably facing the unit
  • Place PCS/Bulb in their hands (glass down, cable up)
  • Secure with elastic wrap if needed
  • Guide bare feet onto charging plates
  • Ensure full foot contact with plates

4

Session Management (10-20 minutes)

  • Turn on VACS and activate unit
  • Increase amplitude above blue area in LESS than 8 seconds
  • If user says it’s too intense: have them lift ONE foot to reduce intensity
  • First session: Monitor continuously – NEVER leave unattended
  • Experienced users: Check periodically, may be more independent
  • Adjust amplitude as needed throughout
  • At 10 minutes: optional leg shake exercise
  • Watch for any signs of discomfort
  • Assist if nose itches (very common)

5

Session Completion

  • Have client lift feet off plates (or simply turn off unit)
  • Turn off unit immediately
  • Remove PCS/Bulb from hands
  • Allow client to sit for a moment before standing
  • Remind about 2-hour medication/alcohol window
  • Encourage water consumption
  • Schedule follow-up if requested

⚠️ Professional Boundaries – CRITICAL

Violating these boundaries risks your certification, facility insurance, and client safety

NEVER Make These Statements:

  • ❌ “This will cure your [condition]”
  • ❌ “You need X number of sessions”
  • ❌ “This will definitely help with [symptom]”
  • ❌ “You can stop taking your medication”
  • ❌ “I think you have [diagnosis]”
  • ❌ “Studies show this treats [disease]”

✅ APPROPRIATE Responses:

  • ✅ “Each person’s experience is unique”
  • ✅ “I recommend discussing that with your doctor”
  • ✅ “EFS is not a medical treatment”
  • ✅ “Some people report feeling more relaxed”
  • ✅ “Let me explain how the technology works”
  • ✅ “Would you like to schedule another session?”

🚨 Safety Protocols & Emergency Procedures

Absolute Contraindications – DO NOT PROCEED:

  • Implanted electrical devices – NO EXCEPTIONS (pacemakers, defibrillators, insulin pumps, nerve stimulators, cochlear implants, ANY battery-powered implant)
  • Magnetic jewelry not removed – Will heat up and cause burns
  • Smart watches or fitness trackers not removed – Electronic devices must be removed
  • Pregnancy without doctor’s written approval
  • Severe uncontrolled seizure disorders
  • Client under 18 years old

Use Caution With:

  • Recent surgery (within 6 weeks)
  • Metal implants near brain or heart
  • Open wounds or infections
  • Acute illness or fever
  • Recent heart attack or stroke

🚑 Emergency Response Protocol

If a client experiences distress during a session:

  1. Turn off unit IMMEDIATELY (no need to lift feet first)
  2. Keep client seated and calm
  3. Check vital signs if trained
  4. Call 911 if serious symptoms present
  5. Document incident thoroughly
  6. Report to facility owner and EFS Corporate immediately
  7. Never admit fault or speculate about causes

💬 Handling Common Client Questions

Client: “Can I keep my Apple Watch on?”

Your Response: “No, all smart watches and fitness trackers must be removed before your session. These electronic devices can interfere with the equipment and for your safety need to be set aside. You can place it with your other belongings and put it back on right after your session.”

Client: “It feels too intense!”

Your Response: “No problem, let me help you adjust that. Please lift one foot off the plate – that will reduce the intensity by half. You can also put it back down when you’re ready. I can also lower the amplitude setting if needed. We want you to be comfortable throughout your session.”

Client: “Will this help my arthritis?”

Your Response: “EFS is not a medical treatment, and I can’t make claims about specific conditions. Each person’s experience is unique. Some people report feeling more relaxed after sessions. I’d recommend discussing any health concerns with your doctor.”

Client: “How many sessions will I need?”

Your Response: “That’s entirely up to you! Since everyone’s experience is different, there’s no set number of sessions. You’re welcome to schedule sessions as often as you’d like based on your personal experience and schedule.”

Client: “Can I stop taking my medication?”

Your Response: “Never change your medication without consulting your doctor. EFS sessions are not medical treatments and aren’t intended to replace any medical care. Please discuss any medication changes with your healthcare provider.”

Client: “Why can’t I take medications for 2 hours?”

Your Response: “Research suggests cellular activity may be enhanced after a session, which could affect how substances are absorbed. The 2-hour window before and after sessions is a safety precaution to ensure your medications work as intended.”
